Well, I don’t suppose it could be YOUR fault Ray, what with the crying wolf dramatics like “mother of all storms” and “900 miles wide”. And of course, FoxNNbc is totally guilt-free after scaring the life out of the Gulf Coast with downright hysterical and incorrect stories designed to entertain people that don’t even live here.
It’s no secret that I wish more people would stay for hurricanes, but this is with the understanding that they’d be very well-prepared and hopefully in good health. You can’t passively stay, you have to actively stay. There’s no kicking back and watching the wind go by – it’s hard, stressful work. I fear “the sky is falling” tactics of the government and media during Gustav have now assured the deaths of many in the next truly bad storm.
